Well, without knowing the actual status and cause of delay I can not advise properly.
It appears that may be due to non service of summons the case has not proceeded further.
If that is so then there are ways to get the service of summons completed by substituted service.
If you come with more details then I can advise further.

if you are facing difficulty in service of summons because your husband is residing in UK you may request the court to send the summons through Indian Embassy in UK

Now he is UK citizen.
Try to search is whereabouts through social media.
Otherwise prey the court to serve summons through alternate method.

@ Riya,
1. What is the opinion and advise of your lawyer who is well aware about the facts?
2. Have you lost faith in your lawyer, if yes, change immediately, otherwise proceed as advised.
3. You got married to a Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or Christian and under the provisions of which laws (Act), you did not mention?
4. Was it an arranged marriage? If yes, what is the opinion of middleman?
5. Did you and your family check, cross-check and confirm his permanent (family) address, character and anticidents, financial position, assets and liabilities before finalisation of alleged marriage?
6. What are the action(s) taken by you/your family/friends/acquaintances to trace out your husband, who is stated to have left/ deserted you?
7. How did you infer that your husband is absconding?
I am unable to respond your query on the basis of permutation(s) and combination(s) since still number of other relevant questions, which require your answer(s) before forming an opinion and rendering you FREE LEGAL advice on this platform.
