Really need some good advice

i hve just started a franchisee under a well known company. to introduce myself i emailed all other fellow franchisee holder. which troubled a few in the business.
now one of them is claiming because of my email (which states i will provide better and hassle free service)his mother got sick and is asking for me to pay him sum of 5 lakhs as compensation charge.
i have cross checked the firm is under his name not his mother.
is this even possible am i to be blamed for it?

No, you cannot be legally hold responsible to pay any compensation in such a case.

Your story does not seem to provide the actual fact and background of the case, what was the product or service which you provide on behalf of your principal/ franchiser, whether any such claim about hassel free service had been made by your principal or not, how hassel free service affects an individual or firm, etc.
Mind it, if you go beyond the scope of terms & conditions of franchise in marketing the product or services, only you and NOT your franchiser company is liable for any penalty.
However, any advice without providing clear background of the case may mislead you and harm your interest rather than benefitting you.

thank you all for your reply really appreciate it reply according to query
the franchisee and distributor ship i took is from ITZ cash. it provides railway and air ticketing booking service.
by hassle free service i mean door to door service.
as a distributor my duty is to make new agents and as well as provide old agents with a proper service.
no sir till now i didnt get any demand notice.
