Dear Seniors,
I have taken a receipt from Function/Marriage Hall, that my wife got married.
1)Can this be used as defense in my maintenance & divorce cases.
2) Is there anything that,
a Function/Marriage Hall has to submit list of marraiges happened in a particular period to the Office of Regsitrar Of Marrige.
3)Is there any source to get details about the marriage from a Function/Marriage Hall

if she has remarried and you have been able to get some evidence that she has remarried then it will be beneficial to your case. however, you will have to prove the same in the court of law.
if you are able to know that the marriage has been solemnized in some marriage hall then try to find out the photographer also.
you may check up with the registrar's office as well.

You are to prove fact that your wife got remarried.
and the receipt of marriage hall is one type of evidence which shows that she got married again. It can be used in court.
But do not depend solely on this piece of evidence only. Isn't It possible that you your self paid money to marriage hall owner and obtained a receipt? Likewise other questions can be raised. You are to prove 'marriage' and a receipt is not proof of marriage.

I agree with the views of Mr. Agrawal. Try to get corroborating evidence such as witnesses to the marriage, the priest who conducted the rituals, marriage registration certificate if the marriage is registered etc.
