You cannot be rest assured of suitable action if the loan becomes NPA. Yet it could be manged, since legal action could be initiated by the bank against the loanee. You can join the new post.

Can departmental action be initiated for ex-staff according to Labour or service rule? And if it is what can be consequences?

Whether you were the loan sanctioning authority or a recommending person?
The bank has to rope in their staff for NPA/ bad debt accounts, conduct internal inquiry and fix responsibility.

Dear Deepak,
1. If your recommendation for grant of loan was based on the sound principles / guidelines given by the bank and based on soundness of the background documents - you need not worry - whether or not the loan account becomes NPA.

You need definitely worry if there is any lapse of any manner on your part. ONLY YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS ASPECT.

2. The bank as per their rules and regulations can go after you, in case they find any fault in your recommendation - whether you are in service of the bank or not, that does not matter.

3. The Railway department may not take action for anything done by you in your previous employment. But, in case, you get arrested on the basis of complaint by your bank, then in that event, you will first get suspended in the Railway Department.

More than this it will not be possible to think about other consequences. You have to take things as they happen. If you start thinking what all things may happen, probably you will be ending with a lot number of things than what really may happen!
