They were formed under BANKING COMPANIES

hi, some banks are covered in companies Act.but all national banks not companies acc to that Act.

Yes, Nationalised Bank come under purview of the Companies Act, 1956.

Nationalised or non-nationalised (private) banks, all banks are companies falling under the purview of the Companies Act.
