reg: part payment made for goods delivered

(Querist) 19 May 2010 This query is : Resolved
I run a furniture showroom. One of my clients made part payment of the goods and got the entire items delivered on the condition that he will make the remaining balance payment at home. He gave a blank cheque with the wrong amount without the signature to our delivery guys. For last one week we are trying to contact him but he is avoiding calls. What action can we take against this client, civil or criminal?

Lodge a police complaint against him for cheating. That will be faster than filing civil case for recovery of money.

Progress in Police coplaints would also depend of complainant's effective liaison;
You surely have a strong civil case for summary trial / decree if the amount due is admitted by way of accepted Invoice / Bill showing advance and balance due upon delivery at home of the defaulter !

Lodge a complaint .
