Hi All
i newly applied passport on 11/06/2008. Once i failed to attend the police verification. After that i reapplied police veification part(two time) only.Finally i attend police verification on 22/05/2009. Afer that i am waiting for my passport. Last week itself i didn't get any passport status thro internet. Today i saw the status , which is "your file is closed and reapply with your file number". Today i enquiried passport office thro telephone , they said "we didn't receive any letter or verification report from your local police". But i asked police station , they said that the police verification report alredy sent to passport office. In this situation what i can do? Can i put a case to passport office , madurai? what are the steps need to follow? because one year and two months completed. Please give valuable suggestion to get my passport.

Dear Ananthramu
If you are from A P then you have the option of visiting the Police website and download the details of the police verification report. The same can be submitted to the Passport office, however, since the status on the passport website is shown as "your file is closed and reapply with your file number", I suggest you to re-apply the same without further delay after meeting the concerned officer who holds a weekly Passport adalat at the Passport Office.

Please visit the Tamil Nadu police website if there is any option to check the status of the police verification report. However, visit the passport adalat to seek guidance of the i/c officer there.

You cannot access the said information in website in Tamil Nadu. Kindly verify with the police the date on which the their report has been sent to the RPO and the despatch number. With these details you get an appointment with the Passport Officer at Madurai Passport Office and give a representation to him. Let him clarify on getting his reply you can decide the course of action you need to follow. I AM FROM MADURAI. In Madurai Passport Office there is lot of confusion in this regard. I too had applied for passport under tatkal scheme and they have false sent a notice to me and later passport was issued after a month. But subsequent to receiving my passport I had approached the DCDRF and the case is still pending disposal.
