Respected Sir/Madam,

I want to know regarding the stipend of a PG medical student in the year 2005 and whether he was eligible for the stipend then. This is required in my case. I want to produce a document showing whether he was getting the stipend and if so, how much. For this information can i ask the so and so department of the medical college through RTI? Please let me know.

With Thanks,
Durga

You can definitely obtain such information by invoking RTI Act as the same is applicable even with retrospective effect.

1. You can general information from government department/ organisation/ PSU etc. where provisions of RTI Act 2005 are applicable. Please chack whether the medicos was studing and getting stipend from government medical college?
2. Being a personal information the PIO/ SPIO shall deny the information to you as PIO/SPIO has to seek permission from individual medicos before giving to you.

Yes I agree with experts. you can get information for whether the students have stipend facilities. Or. Not. But as for the personal information concern they may deny to give you. Anyhow check by filing petition under RTI
