Guest (Querist) 15 January 2014 This query is : Resolved
Dear sir,

I have entered by mistake my caste name in english slightly different from the list of sc in central government list and it is signed by the competent authority as well. I belong to sc category.
will this lead to rejection of my category in application form made?
Please suggest me.

Apply for a fresh community certificate.

The query does not clarify full facts. In the form there must have been similar to column "whether belong to SC/ST category" if you have entered the category as SC, it will not make difference if spellings of cast are a bit different. Generally the department does not search the category from the name of caste filled in the form, but broadly accept the information filled in the respective column and the certificate issued by the competent authority.

However, you can proceed for rectification if you feel so.

The certificates like Legal Heir, community certificate would be issued only once and not fresh again and again. Better you go for Rectifications.

go in for rectification as per experts advice

I fully endorse the views of expert Mr. Rajendra K goyal, however if it is okay, you can go for rectification as advised by many.
