Regarding stamp duty and registration

i am purchasing 1 room in jogeshwari east area in chawl, our deal done on Rs. 15.50lakh out of which rs.25K i given as token and rest full amount i will be paying within next 2-3 days through cheque.

my question is as per our Indian govt law chawl property also should be registered and stamp duty paid OR only notaries agreement is OK.

what will be risk in future for notaries agreement and what will be benefit in registered agreement with stamp duty paid.

while registration and stamp duty both party have to pay the amount or ?

pls help me in this.

registered agreement is mandatory . most of agreement in chawls are done on notarised agreement . it is risky as only if document is properly stamped and regd it is admissible in evidence

for value of Rs. 15,50,000 what will be registration cost and stamp duty cost in mumbai?

and that cost we hav eto equally pay or only purchaser have to bare it?

The buyer has to pay full stamp duty and the actual value of stamp duty should be got enquired from the office of local registrar.
