Registration of marriage under special marriage act

(Querist) 18 May 2012 This query is : Resolved
Dear experts,

My father in law and his relatives registered my marriage under Tamilnadu marriage act without informing me.

I didnt sign any of the documents, But my marriage was already registered by hindu marriage act. i was present on that day.

question is, without informing me, registering my marriage is crime or not?

They put my signature on the application form

shall i launch any case against this, if yes, under which section i can launch it?

please explain

Yes, it is crime. You can file case under sections 463 to 471 of IPC against them in magistrate court.

if your marriage is already regsitered under hindu marriage act why would your father in law do that?

are your relations strained with your wife?

if you file criminal complaint you will loose your wife in bargain as your wife will desert you

I concur with the opinion.

But what unlawful advantage did they gain by doing this??

it doesn't come in the ambit of forgery unless you prove that they made your signature for any unlawful gain.
