"cut of all papers" seems to be typing error.

please elaborate what do you mean.

( 1 ) Whether agreement to sell has been executed or not ?
( 2 ) Whether you received entire sale consideration or part payment.
Clear the facts.

Your query lacks clarity. If the document is registered, then its copy and the previous document copy, obtain from the Sub Registrar concerned.

As a vendor it becomes your duty to handover all link or chain documents pertaining to the proeprty proposed to sell.
There is no reason that you can refuse to handover the original documents to the buyer.
The buyer can sue you for recovery of original documents held by you and for refusing to handover the same.

The facts posted are not clear as to whether the sale transaction is complete and got registered or still it is under agreement to sell ?
Why did you destroy chain of title document, which are necessary to prove your title / ownership ?
The vendee (Purchaser) is well within his right to take all documents of chain of title.
