Court fee stamp does not form part of the revenue of the concerned department, as such only rare of the departments would be redy to accept RTI application fee. As such, DD, PO or cash deposit on receipt in the concerned department may be preferred.

In Tamilnadu acceptance of court fee to that value is in vogue, however the postal stamp or DD or postal order is valid across the country, to conclude, the person seeking information should pay the fee for the purpose.
