Rti act for private engineering colleges

HI All,

Does private engineering colleges fall under RTI Act or not ?

I have found lot of malpractices being followed by these private engineering colleges.

I can see only AICTE mandated information like Employee list posted by these colleges.

RTI is meant only for the information about the activities of the Government and the Government organisations, NOT private organisation.

You can get all the RTI information about the private Engineering College, from the University to which that college is affiliated.

RTI does not apply to private bodies but it applies to Govt bodies where they are submitting details of salary paid.

Further any employer can be summoned in court with salary details of his employee.

well advised, private engineering colleges are not covered by RTI.
