Dear Sir/Madam,
1. I filed an RTI and they have asked me to deposit Rs1000 to them. Is my personal cheque accepted as payment method in this case?
2. Can I file RTI without disclosing my name and asking them the reply in my mail id??

1.Yes. But which information did you ask? Why deposit money? 2. You have to disclose your name in RTI application.

1. Money can be demanded by PIO for providing documents but not for information against questions. File an appeal u/s 19 of the Right to Information Act, 2005 before First Appellate Authority.
2. No, you will have to disclose your name and address with full contact details.

Your second query has been answered properly. You will have to disclose your name and address is essential, as RTI is limited to a citizen of India.
To your first question, let me answer that ordinary cheque cannot be used for RTI payment.
The modes of payment allowed for central government offices are cash against receipt, demand draft, banker’s cheque, and postal order.
State government may have different rules which may include treasury challan, as well, in some states. Other autonomous institutions or courts may have some modes appropriate to their accounting practice.
Therefore, it is better to ask the Information Officer to find out the mode of payment acceptable there.

No atleast you need to verify your identity as Indian citizen. You can seek information on e mail.

Nowadays, cheques are accepted for providing documents sought under RTI applications.
