Dear Mr Saravanan,

The ceiling under PW Act was revised 4 yrs ago to Rs.6,500/- (from then Rs.1,600/-), (vide Gazette of India, Extra., Part II, Section 1, dated 6th September, 2005, pp. 1-5, No. 47). The present ceiling is Rs.6,500/-.

Further, under statutory Acts, there ought to be "some salary ceiling". An Act without any ceiling will not have significance. So, the impression that "no salary ceiling" under PW Act is inappropriate.

With best wishes, Adviser.

Dear Sravanan,

I am also agree with him, further if you want to know maximum wages limit then no such rule at present exist which define ceiling limit for wages, else you can refer minimum wages (state rule ) for fixation on minimum wages.
