Sale of house

(Querist) 23 July 2018 This query is : Open
i am a working woman, i and my husband co-own a flat. i am not paying the EMI for the house only my husband is paying the EMI. i am not contributing financially in any way.

and now if the house is sold, will i get half of the proceeds or i will get back only my investment in the house ?

You may claim half the share in the sale proceed of the house but your husband will dispute it and agree for the % contribution you made in purchase of the house.
If you both agree amicably with regard to % share in the house sale amount that will be better otherwise this dispute may take long time in civil litigation on this issue.

Legally how much money I should get from the sale proceeds ?
Advocate Bhartesh goyal (Expert) 24 July 2018
If you and your husband are co-owners of flat then you can claim 50% share in flat irrespective f that your husband has paid all instalments,it hardly matters who paid the instalments.
