Sale of land

Dear Expert I am 2nd year LLB student of Mumbai University.I want expert advice regarding a land purhased by my father.
My father purchased a land from mr X in 2008, which is purchased by mr x from mr y in 2006.and now in 2012 mr y's sister file a case against mr y demanding her share in property in her notice she also included my dad's name.
Humne land ka pura ferfaar nikala usme that lady ka name nahi tha.her brother saying that ke unhone bahen ka hisssa pehle hi de diya hai still he is ready to give her share.
So plz guide me in this issue what remedy avialable to us.we even dont know these people we dont purchased land from them we r third party owner.Can we now sale that land please advise us.

what was Y sister doing for 6 years?. you are a bonafide purchaser of value .

engage a lawyer and fight the case .

matter is sub judice . has any stay order been granted ? if no stay order has been passed you can sell the land

As you father has not purchased the property from those persons and they are not connected with the land in any manner then nothing is to worry and sale at this juncture when the publication in the newspapers has been made, shall fetch lower price so get the matter solved through court and after getting the whole things cleared, sale the land if you are in requirement to do so.
