UP to now his children belongs to BCC category. In 2016 father died. Now children are trying to get sc caste certificate from tahasildar. Is it correct under law? Studying or employment in a British School or abroad do not change the caste of a person, which is "by-birth" in a particular caste and his children can claim it.

you nowhere stated whether the person actually belonged to any cast you nowhere stated from which religion he converted to Buddhism.
You yourself stated that children belong to BCC. How? Are they trying any fraudulent certificate.
please be clear with facts.

It appears there are deeper facts. Please post complete facts.
All the more, the aspect that the father studied in Christian Missionary Schools is not all relevant or material to the issue under discussion.
