Hi
I m asking this question on behalf of one of my friend. He filed sec 9 on his wife back in 2009 but after one year he take his case back as there was no chance of settlement from her wife even she don't want divorce. He is paying the amount which has been decided in sec 24. His questions is that til how long he have to pay the amount as wife not residing with him and don't want divorce. Please advise....

Thanks Mr VR .... really m not familiar about the rules and regulations of this site that only main person can ask the query and people making fun of the queriest . As per me expert would only mean who always tell the solution rather than making fun. As we are in very advanced generation but believe me still there are many person who don't know how to access internet and my friend is one of them. Again a big thanks.

THE ANSWER IS SERIOUS:
TILL HIS SPOUSE DOES NOT REMARRY AND THAT INCIDENT CAN TAKE PLACE ONLY IF A DIVORCE TAKES PLACE.
THE OTHER HYPOTHESIS ARE UGLY. OKAY MR.Chiranjeev Lamba??!!

Yes this is understood. But if husband is ready for to reside with her then why he pay the amount.

MAINTENANCE IS PENALITY OF MARRIAGE IMPOSED ON HUSBAND WHOSE SPOUSES DO NOT WISH TO PICK POCKET THEIR HUSBANDS'PURSES LIVING WITH THEM.OKAY!

Sorry, your ' friend' will have to pay the maintenance to wife as long she is alive or until she remarries.

Endorse the advise of experts. Maintenance has to be paid till re-marry of wife or till her life. If the income of husband has reduced significantly/no income or income of wife has increased he can approach court to revise the amount payable.
