Namaste! I am from Badlapur,thane. A guy from my locality had made my fake facebook profile by using my name and photos in it. He started vulgar chats with the others. For this we raised the complaint to the nearest police station and after investigation they file an F.I.R under section 354 and the boy was send to jail, after 2 days he got the bailed.
Now its more than 10 months we didnot got any notice from court regarding hearing of our case, we dont even know whether the police has submitted the chargesheet. Whenever we tried to contact the police they replies that everything is ok we no need to wory.
What should we do know..? Can i be safe from that guy..? If again anything wrong happens who will be responsible..? Please help me out from this.

Engage a lawyer who can very much get necessary information from court about present status of the case.
it takes time for start of a case after submission of charge sheet.

Mr. Swapnil,
How anybody can guess whether you are safe or not from that guy against whom you made report?
Also, your question, "if again anything wrong happens who will be responsible.." is quite premature, as how anybody can predict about the character, nature and circumstances of any event to occur in future?
Even if you backout from the complaint, what is the guarantee that the guy will not harm you, as he had already been arrested on account of your complaint.
Better wait for the outcome of the case patiently.

Go toconcerned court of the police station and apply for a copy of the charge sheet. If available they shall order it. You can also make an application under right to information act also. Nothing to worry. You shall be notified compulsorily before closure of case

You have not to attend the court on each and every hearing. Your case is now a State case and state is persuing it with the help of Public Prosecutor. You have to appear before the court for your deposition when a notice is sent to you for that purpose.

About your question, "Can we get a government lawyer to handle this case..," a Public Prosecutor is a Government lawyer only, who may be handling your case. You would not be required to pay even a single penny to that public prosecutor.
