Under the normal circumstances, the service compensation is being paid to the employee who leaves the company before 5 years, because he is not eligible for gratuity.
But, it depends upon the company policy.
I dont think, the above said service compensation is compulsory as per the labour act..

Service compensation word is generally not used in India rather there is specific provision of Gratuity here however in andhra Pradesh this is applicable in some other sense.

There is no difference between Workmen compensation policy & Employee's Compensation policy. Earlier Employee Compensation Policy was known as Workmen Compensation. The term workmen has been replaced with the term employee in the Employee Compensation Act by amendment with enhanced compensation[Rs.1,20,000/= to Rs.1,40,000/=earlier it was Rs.80k to 90 k]limits with full medical expenses reimbursement and has been extended to apply also to casuals and clerks and speedy disposal time of 03 months fixed.
