Signature updation as shareholder in a company

My friend is a share holder in a listed company. He applied for updation of signature on the form prescribed by the company after attestation from his banker. The company is not updating his signature. Has he any legal remedy against that company ?

If request rejected, what reason was quoted by the company for not updating signature of the shareholder?

No reason was quoted by the company. The co made a reference to the attesting bank asking for their confirmation of the attestation. Bank says it is none of their business to reply to such idiotic queries. It appears, the reference was made by the co so that the updation could be avoided. Pl. advise.

Bank has to confirm the authentication. Can't avoid on any plea.

If the Bank has signed / verified, why it should deny / not reply. Lodge complaint with the head office of the Bank.

Company is not at fault.
