Speedy disposal of civil matters

(Querist) 09 July 2022 This query is : Resolved
DELAY IN JUSTICE ALSO INJUSTICE.
BUT IN MOST OF THE CIVIL CASES ABNORMAL DELAY IS HAPPINING IN THE COURTS ON VARIOUS REASONS AND ONE OF THEM IS DRAGGING THE MATTERS BY THE DEFENDANTS BY ONE WAY OR THE OTHER.
IS THERE ANY CITATIONS FROM THE HONORABLE SUPREME COURT FOR THE SPEEDY DISPOSAL?
I REQUEST THE EXPERTS ON THIS.
THANQ.

Citations are magic wands. Delay in justice delivery is unfortunate and amounts, in many cases, to denial of Justice. However, it is a fact of life in country. And, no court including the Apex Court Court is no exception.

According to latest report, there are 4, 39, 51, 333 in India, out of which Supreme Court has 67, 279 Pending Cases: High Courts in India has 57, 53000 and the Districts Courts have 3, 81, 31, 054. Both the High Courts and the Supreme Court have reduced the pending cases but it appears that the District Courts in the country appears to be increasing with pending cases. This is despite the facts that our Supreme Court has delivered several judgments directing the High Courts to remind the Judicial officers of the mandatory provisions of speedy trials both in Criminal and Civil Cases or to initiate administrative actions against the judicial officers.
