Stamp duty required after probate of getting propert

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 26 May 2017 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir,
I have purchased a property of land in Kolkata and the owner has left the will and power of attorney because of health problem and demise .

The property has now been probate issued by high court with court fees in my name as per agreement and will .

But still some confusion is there whether stamp duty is mandatory in such case after probate and mutation done by having any risk in future aspects as per property act.

One of my friends lawyer said I have to pay stamp duty or you may risk in future as there is supreme court judgement

Surah lamp and industries (p) ltd Vs state of Haryana.

Pls suggest in detail
