Superannuation for ex-service man re-appointed as bsnl employee

(Querist) 26 March 2015 This query is : Resolved
I am Advocate Satishkumar from Tamilnadu. My father is an ex-serviceman served as Sargent in Indian-Air-Force for 15 years 7 days and after getting VRS till date he is receiving pension for his defense service. He got re-appointment in BSNL on 24.6.2002 and served for 12 years 11 months 14 days.
1. Can my father receive separate pension for his BSNL service?
2. What are the other retirement benefits available for my father?
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 27 March 2015
has he sought continuation of service after surrender of pension and gratuity.

His service being more than 10 years in BSNL, he is entitled to the benefits of civilian pension, gratuity, accumulated balance in his PF account, leave encashment and savings part of Employees Insurance Scheme.

Well advised, agree with the expert PS Dhingra ji.
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 28 March 2015
If he surrenders pension and gratuity taken from Air Force then he can have one single pension for the entire period (on higher salary held now. This way DA will be given on entire amount (as double pensioner gets for only one pension) and family pension will be on the whole length of service (normally only one family pension is allowed for widow of dual pensioner)
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 30 March 2015
He is entitled for all the terminal benefits as provided by the law regulating BSNL in this regard if he qualifies for it. The pension receiving from Air Force (defence) has got no impact on the terminal benefits including the pension granted by BSNL.
