Supply of faulty airteldth - set top box

Im the customer of Airtel DTH Customer ID 3000802489, 2 years back I have upgraded my STB with HD STB , 4 months back I had faced the remote control problem, so I tried to use the switches fixed on STB. To my surprised I have noticed that all the switches provide on the STB are getting stuck inside the STB, as the design of the STB is faulty means manufacturing defect. Now the company is not ready to accept the fault. Yesterday ie on 11.07.2013 I was asked to pay Rs. 350/- as an service charge for replacement of faulty STB free of cost . But when I recd the STB I noticed that the STB which is given as an replacement is a secondhand and repaired one. So i refused to accept as why for the fault of company I should take the defective/ repaired STB. Now, the persons with whom I was coordinating has refused to give me replacement. I would like to bring to your notice as how the customers are cheated by such a big comapanies. Also I would like to inform you- all the set top boxes which are supplied to the customers across the India must 100% facing the same problems., but no one has noticed the same. I would like to request you take immediate action against such company and help the citizens of India from such a cheating and get me the replcement of my STB with fresh one. The government of India is promoting the campaign for installation of STB all over the India, should also listen to the peoples and help them in getting the problems solved.

Please let me Im able to get new set top box or not.

issue legal notice to company . however for recovery of Rs 350 legal expenses would be more than amount you have to pay .

you are at liberty to file complaint before consumer forum against the company for deficiency in service

ask co. to replace the faulty STB.

Dear Mr. R K Nanda, thks for your reply, but for the last 4-5 month Im following with AirtelDTH, they are not ready to replace my SET TOP BOX as they are asking me to pay the cost. I dont understand why should I pay the cost for defective material is being supplied to me, & like me there may be so many other customers in India who have not noticed this problem.
