My mother in law ,who was a widow,was made to sign on property papers by his brother in law. Now she died and we came to know the thing can we take benefit of Indian contract Act which says that a contract of this kind is coercion & is void.

How you will prove that the document / transfer was by coercion and is void. If you have proofs, consult local lawyer and proceed.

Coercion has to be established. Any way u being heir u shud get ur share but u have to prove in court that ur mother has bee forced to sign after ur fathers demise

You have not posted the complete relevant facts like the period when such writing was made, whether the property had been transferred and the mode of the transfer etc. so better to consult locally with the entire relevant documents.
