HOUSE RENT TO BE INCLUDED IN ITAX
1. My friend x is govt employee and getting house rent. He has submitted income tax return(performa)to the department in which he has stated that the total house rent amount which was paid by govt to Mr X should be excluded from income tax calculation. Mr X wants that total house rent should not be included in income calculated for income tax.

kindly educate us on this point and oblige.

The exemption of real house rent paid shall be available and the difference of house rent received and actual paid shall be included in the income for the computation of income tax.
