Tds cheque

(Querist) 20 April 2013 This query is : Resolved
Sir,
Pl clarify my confusion in regard to cheque to be issued for deposit of TDS deducted, my C.A. advised to make cheque as "yourselves a/c TDS' whereas bank said as 'yourselves a/c CBDT " which one is correct to avoid complications in future.

Regards,

ashok thakker

Since there is no separate account with the Bank for TDS, it is deposited in CBDT account in TDS head. So Bank may have asked accordingly. It is local practice. You should confirm whether the TDS cheque has been deposited correctly as per the Challan attached with the Cheque and receipt issued accordingly. Even you issue the Cheque in the name of Yourself a/c TDS Bank should accept it. If Bank does not accept it, you should contact the seniors in the matter.
