Tenant Verification by Police

(Querist) 18 September 2010 This query is : Resolved
Tenant Verification Form as required by Police for tenant verification is totally vague and not transparent, because tenant do not sign and do not get a copy of the received receipt by the Police Department of the same. If Landlord wants with malafide intention can totally jeopardise the tenant in Police Record, without the tenant even knowing the facts because the tenant do not have any copy of the facts detailed by his Landlord. Both the tenant and the Landlord should sign in presence of each other together so that both can know what details are submitted including rent/lease agreement in vogue, otherwise, many facts can be concealed by Landlord if he wants to about the tenant as well and put the tenant in trouble with law in the long run.

Any learned friend should take up this matter and amend the Tenant Verification Form in vogue in the interest of law and justice for the benefit of the mass.

A suitable PIL should be taken up to amend this Tenant Verification Form accordingly, so that in doing so, many tenant-landlord tenancy dispute can be curbed as Police Department has absolute legal and lawful say in the matter in case of tenancy dispute arises in future and everything becomes absolute transparent in the eyes of law including property tax and other tax matters accordingly.
