Dear sir, kindly clarify me,what is the difference between TERMINATION aand DISCHARGE from services?
Hemang (Expert) 07 July 2012
Both bring "discharge" from service. But neither the termination, nor the discharge bring any disqualification in future employment.

Discharge, if not on account of dismissal from service, merely denotes termination from service.

For termination no show cause notice is required.
For discharge from service show cause notice is required.

Discharge of a contract takes place when parties perform their duties or obligations as per terms of the contract. Performance thus signifies the end of the contract. Non-performance of the required duties and obligation by either or both parties leads to the termination of a contract. If an artist appears at an entertainment show and performs, then the artist and host discharge the contract after the performance. If he does not appear to perform and does not wish to perform, the host may terminate the contract.

Discharge means relieving from all the responsibilities given to a person on the job.

Termination means a person whose services are no longer needed by the Management. It is next process after suspension. During suspension period ,an enquiry is done and if in the enquiry the person is found guilty of serious mis-conduct in the dis-charge of his duties, his services may be terminated.
