Termination from job

Iam working in ICICI Bank from 2 years. In JAN'17 i resigned to my job. Again in MAR'17 i revoked my resignation & continuing as a normal employee.

And I was almost top in ratings, but my managers gave me last rating showing reason as i resigned. And i never think of it.

Now, rumors were, company going to terminate all the least ratings.

Generally least rating given to worst performers. In HR policy it was not mentioned that resigned employees will get least rating.

Now due to resignation, i fell down from top to bottom of rating, no issues in my performance.

Now will i get terminated because of least rating ????? if i was terminated what steps i need to take ????? Please suggest me.

You have submitted resignation and revoked it after some time, what do you mean by your statement? Can you revoke your resignation after it has been accepted?

Your re-appointment, if any, is as a fresher, isn't it? If so, rating should re-start, how do you expect your pre-resignation rating to be considered and granted to you?

Notice of resignation/resignation is not a misconduct.




Apparently you had tendered notice of resignation and chose to withdraw it before expiry of notice period/LWD.



It is felt that as employee you have acted well within your rights.



Thereafter you have been marking attendance, working and performing and employer has been reaping profits/revenue/benefits from your work and performance.

It is clear that the HR policy shared with you is for you;your designation.If you have a copy then it is much better.

If you have copy of ratings before notice of resignation it is much better.



The unpublished/published policy for Managers/Bosses is with them and they are acting in accordance with it.



The bosses/establishment do not want employee (you) to withdraw resignation and come back in system.


Hence the said internal/private policy to

lower the ratings and compel to move out of the system.

One issue is termination that you are afraid of.


One issue is steep lowering of ratings that may bother you if you separate and even if you struggle and succeed to remain in system.


Hence download all facts,details,policy,docs and start building irrefutable evidence in form of written communications and keep copies and printouts safely.



One perspective is to apply your own skills and get the ratings corrected.



Remain amiable and gentle.



Other perspective is if you separate or made to separate and suffer any adverse effects then you must have irrefutable evidence on which you can agitate, successfully.

Go thru the policy on ratings (or whatever it is say: appraisal, PIP etc etc).


It might narrate the resultant action in case of rating: increment, promotion, termination or amendment of conditions of employment etc etc……….


If the policy doc narrates termination or PIP leading to termination then you have a reason to feel concerned.


Otherwise also if there is an error then you are ought to point out error, of course under proper acknowledgment and with a copy to you for future records and needful.



Foremost: If bosses are inclined or have decided that you should separate and sudden and steep lowering of ratings is precursor to that then you have a reason to feel concerned and act to defend your interest.
