Threat of suicide by neighbour

Dear Sirs,
I had a fight with neighbor 20 days back. He complained and police gave me CRPC 149 notice. I also filed complaint of assault and hurt.
He was already suffering from back problem. It seems his back problem has resurfaced again after fight. Now he is threatening he will do suicide and write that I am responsible for his death and send me to jail. He has complained twice to the police for the same incidence just to harass me.
He is also demanding money spent on his treatment and threatening to harm us.
Request to advise what remedies I have to protect me in this situation as that man is self-destructive and criminal minded person.

record the threats made by him on your mobile phone . send some roses to him with a greeting card and wish him a speedy recovery

As you have already lodged a police complaint against him so persue it and if no result comes out of it then file a criminal complaint before the area magistrate.

Threat to commit suicide for material gain amounts to extortion.
File case. A serious person does not wait to commit suicide. If he is serious he would have committed much before.
