Time limit for finishing departmental enquiry

(Querist) 09 June 2011 This query is : Resolved
Sir, I would like to know about the time limit set out by law to complete investigations on account of a suspended bank officer, against whom no chargesheet could be framed even after a lapse of ten months.
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 09 June 2011
No m there is no specific time limit for completing such investigations unless the concerned service rules specifically so provides.
Isaac Gabriel (Expert) 10 June 2011
It depends upon the nature of enquiry. But, if the emploee is not responsible for the delay, subsistance allowance as per the act should be paid.
PALNITKAR V.V. (Expert) 14 June 2011
normally chargesheet has to be served within 6 months. But that is not mandatory.
