Time limitation in filing writ petition

(Querist) 25 April 2012 This query is : Resolved
Ld Counsels,

IS there any time limitation in challenging the order passed by state information commission in a writ petition before the High Court.

What will be criteria for condoning if any such delay in filing.

Thanks.

Normally there is no time limit for writ petitions - though doctrine of laches applies and the delay should not be gross and showing utter neglect on your part
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 25 April 2012
Yes it should be filed within reasonable time limit.
