Is downloading from torrent sites and storing the same in personal computer amounts to any offence?

if u r using the same for personal use and not for commercial purpose then it wont amount to any offence.

If it is downloaded for personal use then there is no offence.

Downloading copyrighted files without permission is illegal, whether for personal or commercial use. And it doesn't matter what technology you happen to use to do it: bitTorrent, FTP, web downloads, email or getting a CD in the mail. If the material is copyrighted and you didn't pay for or otherwise get the legal right or license to receive those files, those are all copyright violations.

Just I am downloading from Torrent web sites and after seeing movies or using other softwares, i use to delete the same from system. I am not at all transforming it to CD or other Portable Media. What how about piracy and offence?
