Sri and Smt A purchased a property in an Urban Co-operative Housing Society. The registered sale deed is in joint names. Sri is first named, and Smt A is second on the deed. On the Share Certificate of the Society Sri A is the first named Member, and Smt A is second named member and called Associate Member under the MCS Act.
Sri A passed away, before they moved into the house. After a lapse of 8 years, Smt A discovers that property document continues to in the name of her husband. She continues to be Associate Member of the Society, of which Sri A who is no longer the member.
What is the legal status of Smt A and the membership status of Smt A in the Society, and her rights. What must she now do?

Absolute ownership transferred under registered Sale deed in favor of Mr and Mrs A. Hence Mrs A is joint absolute owner of 1/2 share in the property. Remaining property devolved upon All the legal heirs of Mr. A.
