My grades are missing from the university's online portal, preventing me and my classmates from obtaining official transcripts and Marks cards. We completed our Bachelor's degree in Social Work in the 2021-2024 batch. Despite repeated visits and communications with university officials, the issue remains unresolved. This delay is severely impacting our ability to pursue higher education, as we have missed application deadlines and are at risk of losing another academic year. What legal options do we have to compel the university to promptly reflect our grades on the portal and issue our transcripts as well as mark cards? What are the potential grounds for legal action, and what evidence would be necessary to support our case?

You submit an application to the registrar of the university requesting the certificate and request for an expeditious action in view of your career pursuance.
If you don't get any relief even after waiting for reasonable time you may resort to legal action as per law.

Before moving for a legal recourse (which you can initiate) you may submit an application to the Registrar of the University on the issue, wait for about a fortnight and proceed through a local prudent lawyer.

You have the option to approach the High Court in a Writ Petition.

We have already met with the Registrar and submitted a formal complaint. However, they have taken no action for more than four months. The question is, if we file a legal case against them, will it negatively affect us, considering they are a state government university?

You file a writ petition against the university seeking direction to furnish the required certificates and for the litigation costs too.
