University offered Degree title modification

Can a University modify the Name of any Degree ?

A university woud provide 5 yrs degree of Mechanical Engineering as " Degree in Mechanical Engineering " but recently it is providing as ""5 Years Degree in Mechanical Engineering "

can any University do this on its own decision ??

Though the query is repeated but I have not replied it earlier.

The minor change is not a change in nature or name of course. This is within the domain of university.
