Any reason on account of which the bank manager gave you letter about your own missing cheque, when that was your personal matter?

You are not bound to lodge complaint with Police though I find no harm in doing so. Choice is yours.

If the FIR has been lodged on the basis of letter from Bank, police would proceed, no need of another FIR.

Police can lodge DDR at any time. FIR is not lodged in such matters rather DDR is sufficient.
