@ Shashi Kumar Sahni,
Are you not Sahni? If not, why use Sahni with your name and also since when Sahni and Nishadh castes have been equated by the Bihar or Central Governments?

Registration of voter is totally different from granting benefits of reservation, which is allowed / restricted in parent State only.

The querist seems to be playing smart, "name Sahni, but caste Nishad."

I am sorry to differ. Registeration of as voter is relevant.
The cast certificate specifies that the person is ordinary resident (within the meaning of section 20 of Representation of Peoples Act) of the area from where certificate is issued. So one can technically apply for certificate from the area where he is registered as voter.
The privilege of continuing as ordinary resident of native place (despite shifting elsewhere for profession) is restricted to privileged few.
