my mother left a piece of land purchased by her. a house was built on the land by me.i am her single child. can a will be made in name of other not allowing my children"s right on the property.

Yes it is absolute property of you. Hence you can make a will in favour of anyone and your children does not have rights over such property

Yes it remains your mother's property - the superstructure created on the land, in absence of exceptional circumstances, goes with the land beneath it. Hence it being her property absolutely - she can will it to anyone she likes.
