Dear Sir, I want to know what are the working hours rule for Factories in Gujarat. Is there any Private Employee Welfare Associations ? What are the rights of private employee on Working hours and Statutory Leaves.

No worker can be allowed to work in a factory for more than 9 hours a day and 48 hours in any week. I think there are 7 casual leaves.

Section 54 of Factories Act, 1948 provides: 54.Daily hours.—Subject to the provisions of section 51, not adult worker shall be required or allowed to work in a factory for more than nine hours in any day:1[Provided that, subject to the previous approval of the Chief Inspector, the daily maximum specified in this section may be exceeded in order to facilitate the change of shifts.
In the sum and substance of rules on the subject are: 2. (a) A working day shall not exceed eight working hours. (b) a working day shall not exceed seven working hours in night work on the day preceding the weekly rest and on the day preceding a festival on which an employee is not employed, whether by law or by agreement or custom.
Working week. 3. A working week shall not exceed forty-five working hours.

Thank You Sir.. Is there any 3rd Party Organization which can help people to Complaint against extra working hours timing and his/her name is not disclosed..Because if the complaint is register to Factory Officer by any employee they will loose there job.. What is your suggestions to make follow this complainces..

Let the case be taken up by registered union of workers in the factory.

Issue is many private organization are making people work for 60 to 72 hours in week. If anyone oppose they are been removed. An Individual cannot fight with Big Companies.. Even if he dares to fight later on he will be harrased to leave the company.
In this situations what should Individual do..

My Concern is what if Private organization are making people work for more hours than what is written in the ACT..
If any of the employee who are been forced to work for 10 to 12 hours work + 2 hours of travelling and spending 14 hours of his life. Above all if they dont get leave this is going to impact his mental and physical health. If any individual raise his voice they will be removed from the organization.
When i wrote to Industrial Safety Officer they informed name to organization and I was been removed from the Company..
I want to know is there any 3rd party organization for Private Employee welfare who make company follow the complainces..
