Working on gazetted holiday

My school makes children and teachers work on Gazette holiday of Guru Nanak birthday though it is marked as a non working day in school record. No compensatory or EL is given in lieu of it.

Annual function day is part of highlighting the development/ progress of students under the guidance of able and competent teaching staff with coordinated efforts of non-teaching staff, a proud feeling day for which every one has to practice during non-working days only, nothing illegal.
