Fined by court of law without a trail.

In 2005 I had a quarrel and minor fight with bank employee's in drunken state outside the bank at 5:00 pm, after which I was taken to police station. After my medical was done they let me off on suriety of my friends bike paper. A month later my friend recieved a call from court to pay a fine of Rs 1000. Now I have to apply for govt job in which i have to mention my antecedants as 1. were u ever arrested 2. ever been fined by court of law 3. convicted?

After few discussion some told u were convicted and fined by court of law under the process of summary trail.

I want to know how can i be convicted when i haven't appeared in court and pleaded guilty and no one did on my behalf, just the fine was paid. No summon was recieved.

can anyone fined by court of law without a trail. And does it account to conviction

Pls advice
