Legal heir cetificate

my father died 40 yrs ago .

can i get legal heir cetificate by tahsidar off or court?

what is the procedure and documents needed?

if you r in possession of the property you can approach under adverse possession rule, as you cannot get legal heir certificate and it is very difficult to establish you are rght legal heir.

There is no limitation for getting LHC.You can approach the tahsildar to provide you LHC.if the tahsildhar refuses to give, you need to approach the court stating the facts why you took so much time to apply and seek permission to issue the same.the court would then instruct the tahsildar to issue the certificate
