Section 91 crpc summon from police

Hi experts, I received a summon from police officer under section 91 asking copies of documents. Not sure what docs. Actually my wife has filed a maintenance case in family court and I assume it's related. How I am supposed to react? Is there any legal way to avoid this? Your help is much appreciated. Thanks.

In this regard, the first question to answer by oneself is (1) whether you have any documents - original or photocopies?

(2) If so, then produce the same to the police.

(3) Why try to hide? What for?  Any attempt to hide, in spite of having such documents in your possession, will itself invite adverse consequences.

Therefore, it is not a good policy to avoid summons, or to avoid from furnishing documents.

Thanks for the reply. I don't mind giving documents what I have. But not sure of what are the documents as the summon says "copies of documents " . Is there any standard set for maintenance case. Please advise.

Then confirm from the OC of the PS which has summoned you to produce the documents....
