Tds on property purchase

Hi need advice on TDS, recently I have purchased property in Hyderabad and got it registered but I was not aware that I have to deduct 1% TDS from seller.

Mutual agreement between both of us was that I hold some amount in the total value which needs to payed while he is gives position i.e. after 3 months and inbetween this 3months I got to know about TDS which I have informed him and told that i would deduct this at the time of settlement but he didn't agree to this and he threatened me that if I deduct this amount he will not give the position so in this situation I do want to risk my property so I paid whole amount and now i have got the position also but according to law it's buyer's responsibility to pay the TDS what are my options please advise.

You were not suppoused to pay any tax on  purchase of proeprty, it is seller who has to pay as he earns from the property and he still has to pay it  as he generated an icome amount from selling his property ; The tax laiblity for him is still there and his account will be charged with that. You were not suppoused to pay neither ever would have been cherge by taxation department. You were suppoused to confirm that fom any CA or tax cunsultant before paying such charity,
