I have been asked by parents of the spouse for bank certificate of initial gifts given to us as a part of mutual settlement. Is this a trick to initiate any further legal or other action against us?

Dont fall into any kind of trap, you will hang yourself with the rope you will be providing the other party. Think many times before you make a settlement deal !!!!
